Handmade knitted vest with Mohair. This type of yarn, derived from the fleece of the Angora goat, is lightweight and warm, making the garment incredibly soft. Details in burgundy. 

Each piece takes 3 days to be brought to life by a craftswoman.

BEHIND THE SCENES

The piece was originally part of Maria's end of year collection "Room 237" at the Scandinavian Academy of Fashion Design in Copenhagen. The collection is inspired by the film “The Shining” by Stanley Kubrick and reflects its dark and eerie atmosphere.

The focus is on the “idea of a sinister and undone pretties and romance”. By emphasizing the horror motive, the collection is a homage to women who must fight to survive. The collection explores the interactions between haunting iconography, the playfulness of the innocently proper (dresses with bows and ruffles and floral fabrics), and fetishistic seduction (torn shirts, shown skin and leather) that we often find in a cult classic. 

The designs incorporate elements of the movie’s iconic imagery.
